The Moto Guzzi Le Mans is a sports motorcycle first manufactured in 1976 by Italian company Moto Guzzi.It was named after the 24-hour motorcycle endurance race at Le Mans in France. The Le Mans designation was first used for an 850 prototype, based on the V7, displayed at Premio Varrone in late 1972. Standard Le Mans production began with three 850s, followed by a succession of 949cc models from 1985-93. After the 850 II’s 1979 release, DMB contacted Mandello for a bigger version, but this had become a common request at Moto Guzzi. Moto Guzzi Le Mans 850 (Mk 1) – source: petrolicious.com. The braking system was twin 300mm Brembo front discs and a single 242mm rear disc. What Moto Guzzi was known for was the integrated type of brake operation.
