Slk R170 Interior

Has anyone had the interior paint peeling off it seems to be only the gray paint of the gray & black interior. I have a 1998 SLK 230 I asked at dealership if this had been a manufacturing problem but they said no. Thanks! The speedometer color change was quite involved. I used the instrument panel from a Chrysler Crossfire [which has the same components as a R170]. Rather than a direct replacement, though, I had to remove the black speedometer faceplate and then remove the ugly green tint [since the Crossfire speedometer lights are green].
